Shape of Dreams Platforms: PS5, Xbox, Switch 2 and PC

Shape of Dreams is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It is not available on PS4, Xbox One, the original Switch or mobile, and those four platforms do not have store listings at all. This is not a “not yet” situation: the publisher announcement and every official store page list the same four targets.

Platform availability and current price

Sale windows differ: the Steam anniversary sale runs to 29 September 2026 and the console launch discount to 1 October 2026.

Why so many people expect an older console version

Two things cause it. First, the PC version spent a year on its own, so anyone watching the game in 2025 had no console listing to check. Second, the console release was a surprise drop rather than a pre-order campaign, so there was no store page to build expectations. Moderators in console communities were still correcting “is this coming to PS4” questions days after launch.

What actually differs between platforms

Three differences are worth knowing before you buy:

• Cross-play covers all of them. A PS5 lobby accepts PC and other console players, so the platform your friends own rarely matters.
• Steam is the only version with Workshop mods. Official mod support and the Steam Workshop arrived with v1.1. Console versions do not have it.
• The Xbox version has a launch bonus costume. Crimson Flash Lacerta is claimed in game by Xbox players, including Game Pass members.

Check the right store page

Search the official store for your platform rather than a key reseller. Key sites label a Steam key as “PC” and sometimes imply broader platform support than the game has. If a page claims a PS4 or mobile version, it is not describing this game.
